Privacy

This is the artist page for umbra. It is a set of static files. There are no accounts, no logins, no forms, no advertising, no analytics and no server-side code of any kind. It collects no personal data whatsoever.

What is stored on your device

One thing: if you switch between light and dark, that choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key umbra:mode. It never leaves your device and is never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. See Cookies.

What happens when you press play

The recorded sets are shown as still images until you click one. At that point a YouTube player loads and YouTube receives the request, as it would on any page embedding a video — from then on Google's privacy policy applies. If you never press play, nothing is requested from them.

Release artwork and video thumbnails are served from Spotify's and YouTube's image domains, which means those two see a request for an image when the page loads. Nothing identifying you is sent with it, and this site receives nothing back.

What this site does not do

• No analytics, tracking pixels or advertising.
• No profiling and no automated decision-making.
• No mailing list. There is no form to join one with.
• No selling or sharing of data. There is nothing to sell.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of what is held about you, or ask for it to be deleted. In this case there is nothing to hand over and nothing to delete, because nothing is collected. If you want to raise something anyway, message @georgeumbra on Instagram.

If you are not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
